In order to make the forest more beautiful, leaves fall & die and trees collapse & die. It is truly the Cycle of Life in the forest. The result is almost always a more beautiful environment. I recently traveled to Mt St. Helen's in Washington state. In spite of that horrendous disaster, life is coming back.
As difficult as it may be for us, that is what happens in our spiritual life. God prunes us. He lets parts of us die, so we can become better. We grow from our pain. We learn to forgive and be forgiven.
So the next time you see a fallen tree or a pile of dead leaves, reflect on the good that comes from that.
Blessings and Love,
Deacon Tom
